Pastor Usman Jaafar Israel Oboh is a seasoned and highly respected minister of the Gospel, distinguished by a rich and diverse background spanning finance, military service, academia, and Christian ministry. He was born on 16 August 1967 into a polygamous Muslim family of Mr. and Mrs. Fatimetu Usman Oghiator of Ibienafe, South Ibie, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria.

Pastor Oboh began his formal education at Igebo Primary School, Ibienafe (1972–1978), and proceeded to Ekperi Grammar School, where he completed his secondary education (1979–1984). In January 1985, he enlisted in the Nigerian Army through the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, as a member of the 19 Regular Intake.
